Introduction

This building was constructed during the reign of Emperor Augustus in the 1st century BC and ceased to be used in the 3rd century AD. Later, Muslims used it as a quarry to build the Alcazaba fortress. It was excavated in 1951 during a construction project. The Roman-style columns and engraved letters are still visible, making this site impressive.
