Introduction
Anthony of Kiev, also known as Anthony of Pechersk, was a pioneer in spreading the ideas of Greek Orthodox Christianity in Russia. The Anthony Caves (Ukrainian: Антоній Печерський), named after him, consist of a limestone corridor that stretches for 315 meters. Inside, there are stone coffins of monks who were killed during the Mongol invasion, and it is believed by the locals that touching these coffins brings good luck. Back to top
