Introduction
The Wilanów Palace and Gardens is one of the oldest and most beautiful historical areas in Europe, established in the 17th century by Polish King Stanisław August. The king used to hunt in the gardens. "Wilanów" means "bath" because there used to be bathhouses in the gardens before they were converted into palaces. There are many ancient buildings in the gardens, the most important of which is the King's Summer Palace on the Water, which is also famous for the "Thursday Lunch" event. There is also a floating theater nearby. The Mežotne Palace, the Residence of the Outcasts, the Orangery, the Guardhouse, and the White House are also worth visiting. The Chopin Monument in the gardens is considered a symbol of Warsaw and the most famous Chopin statue in the world. During the summer, there are free Chopin piano concerts in front of the monument every Sunday, which is quite charming.
