Introduction
The historic town of Macau (also known as the Historic Centre of Macau) is located on the Macau Peninsula and consists of 22 buildings and 8 squares. It is a historical district centered around the old town area, preserving numerous historic buildings and cultural heritage sites such as the Fortress of Macau, A-Ma Temple, and Senado Square. On July 15, 2005, the historic town of Macau was officially included in the World Heritage List during the 29th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. It is the 31st site in China to be listed as a World Heritage site and holds significant historical and cultural value.
