Introduction

Kowloon Walled City was a place during the colonial era known as the "three no governance zone". Due to a lack of effective control for a long time, it became an area of lawlessness, with illegal buildings continuously being constructed in the narrow space. The buildings were so close to each other that it became one of the most densely populated places in the world at that time.
