Introduction

Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower, 45 meters high, originally known as the Former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower, was built in 1915 and was once a building within the Kowloon Train Station. This century-old structure bears witness to the dramatic changes in Hong Kong's history. In 1975, when the Kowloon Train Station was relocated, the Clock Tower was preserved and became a symbol of the starting point of the Kowloon-Canton Railway and one of the landmarks of Kowloon. Constructed with red bricks and granite during the era of steam trains, the Clock Tower showcases the distinctive colonial architectural style. As one of the major railway termini of the British in the Far East, the Clock Tower has witnessed this historical period and permanently recorded it in the history of Hong Kong.
