Murray House, A Blend of Eastern and Western Architectural Elegance
Stanley Bay
4.1
Introduction
The Murray Building is located on the southern tip of Hong Kong Island in Stanley Bay, and it is a unique and beautiful architectural landmark.
This building combines elements of both the East and the West, with its Greek-inspired circular stone columns and Chinese-style tiled roofs, exuding a sense of classical beauty. Standing in front of this three-story granite building, it is hard to imagine how the Murray Building was "moved" from Central to its current location. In 1982, when the building was dismantled, the Hong Kong government had already planned to rebuild it elsewhere. Thus, over 3,000 granite stones of the Murray Building were labeled and then "reassembled" in Stanley in 1998.
When visiting here, you can appreciate the beauty of the Murray Building from an architectural perspective. Additionally, there are two international cuisine restaurants inside the building, offering Spanish and German dishes. You can enjoy delicious food and wine while taking in the breathtaking view of the sea. Transportation Take bus number 6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 260 at the Central Exchange Square Bus Terminus outside Exit D of Hong Kong Station of MTR.
