Introduction

The former Legislative Council Building, located at 8 Jackson Road in Central, Hong Kong, is an iconic building also known as the Old Supreme Court Building. Built in 1912, it features a neoclassical style with elements of Eastern architecture. On the rooftop stands a statue of blindfolded Themis, the Greek goddess of justice, holding a balance and a sword, symbolizing fairness and impartiality. The building's exterior was declared a declared monument in Hong Kong in 1984 and served as the Legislative Council Building from 1985 to 2011. It has also appeared in numerous Hong Kong films and TV productions.
