Introduction

The world's longest outdoor covered pedestrian escalator, 800 meters long with a vertical height difference of 135 meters, takes 20 minutes to complete the journey. The escalator system passes through various attractions, including the European-style buildings, bars, and restaurants in Soho, Hong Kong's Central Police Station and other historical sites, as well as famous traditional bakery Tai Cheong Bakery, attracting tourists from China and abroad. In Wong Kar-wai's film "Chungking Express," actress Faye Wong is seen peering out of her apartment window at actor Tony Leung, who plays a policeman, on his classic commute using the escalator. Additionally, it is worth noting that almost all ATMs in Central accept UnionPay cards starting with "62" for withdrawing Hong Kong dollars, with no currency conversion fees for UnionPay overseas withdrawals, as they are directly converted to Chinese yuan at the market exchange rate.
