Introduction

Big Almaty Lake is located around Almaty and is one of the most popular attractions in the area. It is located in the Big Almaty Gorge and belongs to the Alatau National Park. At the entrance of the park, there is the Sunkar Falcon Center, which offers raptor flying shows. About 2 kilometers along the lake's western side, there is an observatory that used to belong to Moscow University. Here, visitors can enjoy the mysterious vastness of the night sky.
