Introduction
The Chinoike Jigoku, located in Beppu City, Japan, is one of the "Eight Hells" and is a designated national scenic spot. It is also the oldest natural hot spring in Japan. It is named "Chinoike" because the water in the pool appears red like blood, which is caused by the red clay underneath the hot spring. The clay in the hot spring has therapeutic effects for skin diseases, so it is made into ointments for sale. Address 778 Noda, Beppu city, Ōita prefecture 874-0016
