Introduction
Viharamahadevi Park is the largest park in Colombo, previously known as Victoria Park and built by the British. After Sri Lanka's independence, it was renamed Viharamahadevi Park in honor of Dutugemunu, the hero of the country's liberation, and his mother. The park is located east of Colombo City Hall, south of the Art Gallery, and not far from the famous Gangaramaya Temple.
