Introduction

Towada City Museum of Contemporary Art, as the base for the "Arts Towada" urban development plan in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, officially opened to the public in spring 2008. The permanent collection includes 22 representative works by 21 artists from 12 different countries, including Yoko Ono and Choe Jeong-hwa, most of which are large-scale installation artworks.
