Introduction

Ekka, also known as the Royal Queensland Show, is the oldest celebration in Queensland. It began in 1876 in Brisbane Exhibition Ground and has been held annually for 10 days in August. During the festival, travelers can enjoy local agricultural products and get up close with various farm animals, including alpacas. There are also dog shows, sheep shearing, equestrian events, and motorcycle stunt performances. Two highlights of the Ekka are the variety of Showbags with snacks, toys, and souvenirs, and the traditional Strawberry Sundae that has been preserved for over 100 years.
