Introduction
Down House is a 17th-century building located in the far southeast suburb of Downe, London. It became the home of renowned British biologist Charles Darwin in 1842 and he lived here until his death in 1882. Darwin completed his famous work "On the Origin of Species" and important research on the theory of evolution at this residence.
