Introduction

Dajue Temple, also known as Qianfo Temple, was built in 1585. Surrounding the entire tower are thousands of deities, and the shops below the tower sell metal statues. It is said that after a devout Shakyamuni follower made a pilgrimage to India, he returned home and vowed to build a pagoda. With the support of the king and the efforts of three generations, it took 36 years to complete the Qianfo Pagoda in 1600. This 30-meter tall, five-story pagoda was constructed using Nepali pottery techniques, made from 9,000 giant ceramic bricks, each engraved with a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. The inside of the pagoda is empty, housing a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha that is about 2 meters tall. In front of the pagoda, there is also a brass demon-suppressing pestle. Due to the touch of passersby, this pestle emits a glow. Although there are many Buddhist temples in Nepal, the Qianfo Temple in the residential area has gradually been forgotten by people. However, once inside the temple, visitors are still amazed by its exquisite craftsmanship.
