Introduction

Sunrise over the snow-covered mountains is particularly beautiful. The town of Sarangkot, located in the northwest of Pokhara, rises to an elevation of 1592 meters and offers a great vantage point for views of the Fish Tail Peak and the Annapurna mountain range. Many people choose to hike up here early in the morning to witness the sunrise, but the sunset is equally magnificent, especially because the snow-capped mountains are positioned to the east of Sarangkot. On clear days, the rolling peaks of the snow-covered mountains are bathed in golden light, creating a phenomenon known as the "golden hour." However, viewing conditions are often not ideal due to the monsoon season and thick fog.

Transportation
Round trip price for charter service to watch sunrise from the lakeside district is about 1000 rupees, which takes about 20 minutes for one way. Cars cannot directly reach the mountaintop, and it takes about 40 minutes on foot to reach the summit. However, it is generally not necessary to reach the mountaintop to watch the sunrise. There are many good hotels and restaurants with great viewing platforms along the small paths that lead up from the parking lot on the ridge. They also offer hot drinks to travelers. If the physical strength and time allow, you can also walk along the lakeshore to the starting point (indicated by signs) at the foot of the mountain and climb up on foot. It takes about 30 minutes from the center of the lakeside district to the starting point and 1.5-2 hours from the foot to the top of the mountain.
