Introduction

The temple, located next to Maru Temple, was built in the 19th century and is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and his consort, the goddess Parvati. It is adorned with two large stone lions at the entrance and statues of Shiva and Parvati above, making it a iconic landmark of Durbar Square. On the steps in front of the temple, you can often see people dressed as ascetics trying to attract tourists. In addition, there is a small Narayan temple on the west side of the temple, dedicated to the god Vishnu.
