Introduction

Valley of Waves is a unique scenic area that preserves the Danxia landform landscape from the Cretaceous period, which date back to 96 million years ago. The sand dunes here are constantly submerged in underground water, gradually depositing into sandstone, and then being sculpted by natural forces such as tectonic movement, flowing water, and wind, forming various unique Danxia landform landscapes. Like the rings of time and the fingerprints of the earth, they record the traces of sand dunes being washed by wind and frost for billions of years, and accumulate the long history and culture of the Loess Plateau. Valley of Waves has both "Danxia at the Earth's Core" and "Flaming Danxia," as well as "Water Danxia" built by the lake. It offers a variety of landscape types that are unique in the country. Constructed according to the national 5A-class tourist scenic area standards, Valley of Waves is a tourist destination that brings together various activities such as photography, sketching, exploration, learning, and sightseeing.
