Introduction

Confucian Temple in Guidefu, was first built during the Yuan Dynasty. It consists of the Dacheng Hall, Minglun Hall, and Panchi, making it the largest existing Confucian temple in Henan Province. The thousand-year-old Chinese soapberry tree to the east of the Dacheng Hall is also a major attraction in the temple. The trunk is almost hollow, but the crown is still verdant. It is said that Zhao Kuangyin, the founder of the Song Dynasty, once tied his horse to this tree, hence the name "Zhao Kuangyin Ties Horse Tree".
