Introduction

Selin Co is a famous scenic spot in Nagqu Prefecture, north of Tibet, China. With an altitude of about 4680 meters, it is the largest freshwater lake on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and a mysterious landscape. There are no blue skies and white clouds of the sea, nor the beautiful scenery of green trees and forests, but the combination of natural and cultural landscapes is impressive. The water of Selin Co is crystal clear, the source of life for the Mani pile. When the sunlight shines on the lake surface, the ripples sway, the golden flames jump, and the water surface shimmers like broken silver falling from the sky into the lake. The mountain contours around the lake are distinct, with rugged rocks, colorful and unique plants and animals, such as persimmons, high-mountain black fruits, Tibetan antelopes, and Tibetan gazelles. In addition to natural scenery, Selin Co also has unique cultural landscapes. It is one of the gathering places for traditional Tibetan culture. There are many folded books and prayer flags scattered around the lake for people to worship. The "Caique Island" in the lake is also famous. The island is shaped like a colorful bird spreading its wings, symbolizing good luck and auspiciousness. The religious architecture on the island is also a feature of the area.
