Introduction
Bagongshan boasts beautiful natural scenery, covering an area of approximately 108 square kilometers with over 40 peaks rising and falling, surrounded by towering ancient pines and cypresses. It is rich in historical and cultural connotation. Over 1,600 years ago, the famous "Battle of Feishui" took place here where a smaller army defeated larger ones, leaving behind an unforgettable story. Over 2,000 years ago, Liu An, the King of Huainan, recruited talents and spread knowledge, wrote the famous book "Huainanzi," recorded the 24 solar terms for the first time, and invented tofu cuisine. The fossil of "Huainan Insect" is the world's oldest known prehistoric fossil and is regarded as the source of life on the blue planet by the international geological community. Bagongshan has long attracted numerous scholars and poets, including Liu An, Li Bai, Su Shi, Ouyang Xiu, Liu Yuxi, Wu Jun, Wei Yingwu, who have left countless literary works. Nowadays, the Bagongshan Scenic Area adheres to the principle of "scientific planning, strict protection, rational development, and sustainable utilization," focusing on the development of tourism, strengthening the industry and revitalizing culture, and making it a "cultural mountain, civilized mountain, ecological mountain, and life mountain." A considerable amount of investment has been made to protect and develop the scenic spots such as the Bagongshan Stone Forest, the Wangu Valley, the Palace of King Huainan, the Shengxian Platform, the White Pagoda Temple, and the geological museum displaying the special geological features of Bagongshan National Geopark.
