Introduction

Jinshan Island used to be an island in the center of the Yangtze River. In the late Qing Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Guangxu, the Yangtze River shifted north, connecting Jinshan Island with the land to the south. Jinshan Temple is one of the must-visit attractions for tourists. When looking into the distance, Jinshan Temple is visible, but the mountain itself cannot be seen, hence the saying "Jinshan Temple wrapped in mountains". The temple is covered with golden glazed tiles, which is very magnificent. Climbing to the top of the tower, one can also overlook the panoramic view of Jinshan Island. Some well-known stories also took place here, such as the White Snake flooding Jinshan Island and Liang Hongyu attacking Jinshan. On December 31st every year, a grand bell-ringing ceremony for blessings is held at the Buddhist square of Jinshan Temple, and from June to August each year, visitors can also enjoy the splendid lotus flower exhibition.
