Introduction
The Send-Child-to-Phoenix Bridge, built in the Ming Dynasty, is located in the prime location of Xitang Ancient Town. It is a three-hole stone bridge that connects the West Street and the Rainy Corridor and is also the first pier in the town. The bridge has a small tradition - stairs on the south and a slope on the north. Men walk with high steps on the stairs while women walk steadily with small steps, representing the virtues of running a household. The elderly say, "Newlyweds walk here - south is for sending children, north is for coming to Phoenix." Therefore, many people come here to pray for the safety of their children and the happiness of their families. International movie star Meryl Streep has also visited Xitang and walked across this covered bridge. She joked, "If I had walked on this covered bridge first, maybe there wouldn't have been the movie 'The Bridges of Madison County' in America."
