Introduction

Changyucheng is an ancient village located on the border of Changping District in Beijing and Hebei Province. This village is situated in the northwest of Beijing, adjacent to the Great Wall, and has significant historical and cultural value. In the Ming Dynasty, Changyucheng was a fortress used by the military to guard the border and known as the "Wengcheng." Similar to buildings such as Juyongguan and Zhenbiancheng, Changyucheng was also used for military purposes such as stationing troops and rehearsing battles. Although most of the wall architecture has been damaged, only the ruins of the wall foundation of the city can be seen now. However, this fortress still retains the battlement walls and gate ruins from 500 years ago.
