Introduction
The Octagonal Tower is located in Maoping Village, 36 kilometers away from Ciping. It is a two-story building made of adobe bricks. The name of the tower comes from its eight-sided skylight decorations. From October 1927 to February 1929, Mao Zedong lived here for a long time and wrote important works such as "Why the Red Political Power Can Exist in China." Today, the tower displays cultural relics such as the large inkstone, bamboo tube iron lamp and other items Mao Zedong used during his stay.
