Introduction
In May 1928, Zhu De and Chen Yi led some troops of the Nanchang Uprising to meet with Mao Zedong at Jinggangshan. Afterwards, Mao Zedong, Zhu De, and other comrades often made battle plans there, successfully defeating multiple military attacks of the enemy in the Hunan-Jiangxi area. Mao Zedong's old house, also known as the "White House" because of its white walls, was located in the Dajing Village with a total of forty-four rooms scattered across five courtyards. Mao Zedong lived here after his first arrival to Jinggangshan. At that time, five farmers and Wang Zuo's local militia lived there together. By late January 1929, the enemy burned down the house, leaving only a fragmentary wall, two trees, and a large stone remaining. In 1960, the local government repaired the house according to its original appearance, with the remaining wall inserted into the new wall as a tribute. The "Reading Stone" became famous because Mao Zedong often sat on it to read and annotate documents. Address 7 kilometers from Ciping, southwest of Jinggangshan City, Jiangxi Province
