Actually, it is a street covered by a corridor, a unique architectural feature in the water towns of the south of the Yangtze River, and also a unique scenic line in the ancient town. The corridor extends from the street to the riverbank, supported by round wooden pillars and covered with sloping roofs. One section of it contains a double-layered exquisitely carved pattern. Walking under the corridor on a rainy day, listening to the rain quietly, and enjoying the hazy scenery, this profoundly beautiful scenery is also known as the "smoky rain corridor" of Xitang.
