Introduction

Danjing Mountain is located in Danjing Mountain Town, Pengzhou City, 50 kilometers northwest of Chengdu, with an elevation of 1147 meters. It is known as the first of Danjing and the origin of Tian Peng peony in China. During the Song Dynasty, especially the Southern Song Dynasty, peonies were particularly flourishing, and it was famous along with Luoyang and Heze. Pengzhou, also known as Tian Peng, is located in the northwest of Chengdu. It enjoyed the reputation of Hua State in the Tang Dynasty and is one of the famous hometowns of peonies in China. The great poet Lu You, more than 800 years ago, visited Pengzhou's famous gardens and flowers during his time in Chengdu to study and investigate Tian Peng peony. In the article he wrote in January of the fifth year of Chunxi, he started with the sentence: "In the Central Plains, Caozhou (now Heze) is the first peony; in Shu, Tian Peng is the first." However, what people yearn for and is nostalgic about is still the peonies of Danjing Mountain. Danjing Mountain has long been a famous place for peony appreciation. It flourished as early as the Tang Dynasty and reached its peak during the Five Dynasties and the Song Dynasty. When Luoyang fell to the Jin Dynasty, Danjing Mountain became the only famous peony viewing base in the country, but its fame is not only due to the fall of Luoyang and Caozhou. The most important thing is that the peonies of Danjing Mountain bloom in the mountains and cliffs, with their flowers hanging down, which is extremely interesting and famous far and wide. Danjing Mountain and its peonies are not only admired and loved by scholars and literati of various generations, but also by ordinary people. During the flowering season in April, people flock to Danjing Mountain for pilgrimage, flower appreciation, and other activities, making it lively and not inferior to Luoyang. A poem testifies to this: "Not allowing the Central Plains to be the only one to obtain beauty, radiating through a thousand years. Horses and carriages witness the bustling Danjing scenery, forming a lively market at the foot of the mountain."
