Introduction
Cao'e River is a provincial-level scenic area located in the middle and lower reaches of Cao'e River in Shangyu City, 26 kilometers away from Shaoxing City. It covers a total area of 40 square kilometers. Cao'e River, formerly known as Shun River, was renamed after the filial daughter Cao'e jumped into the river to search for her father during the Eastern Han Dynasty. The riverbanks of Cao'e River are wide and the water flows gently, with a poetic and picturesque charm. In the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), it was a route for poets to travel and admire. Famous historical sites are distributed along the river in the scenic area, blending natural and man-made landscapes.
