Introduction

Simatai, located on Longpan Street, is a Qing dynasty building named after the ancient official position of "Simashi". The stone steps in front of the door symbolize continuous progress, while the stone drum has remained intact despite the ravages of time. The house has 3 spacious and transparent front halls and 3 deeper main rooms, with a well-lit skywell in the middle hall. The side wing rooms are generally used as guest rooms and kitchens, and the rear hall is the main room. The main hall has a desk and carved and hollowed-out decorative screens, elegant and quaint, and suitable for enjoying the beautiful scenery. The two stone pillars in front of the door are actually flagpoles, symbolizing power and status.
