Introduction

The Hakka Grand Courtyard was first built in the 16th year of the Qing Dynasty (1836 AD) and took 24 years to complete. It has 777 rooms and features "three major functions and nine major wonders". It is an outstanding representative of the "Square Courtyard" series of residential buildings and is known as the "number one courtyard in Lingnan".
