Introduction

Jiufeng is a small town with a group of overlapping peaks, named after the nine peaks it has. It is said that each of the nine peaks represents something different: Wuzhi Peak (Rain Narcissus), Xiangri Peak (Lingkun Immortal), Tifei Peak (Flying Immortal), Qingyun Peak (Qingyun Immortal), Taiyi Peak (Taiping Immortal), Ziwei Peak (Wuyun Immortal), Yangjiao Peak (White Crane Immortal), Mayun Ancestor Peak (Yinzi Immortal), and Sanxing Peak (Shilong Immortal). During the Ming Hongwu reign (1383), Jiufeng magistrate Pan Zhi once described the scenery of Jiufeng in a poem, where he wrote: "Sanxing Map depicts the group of peaks, Wuzhi and Xiangri are in charge. Yangjiao turns around and the wind rises, horse hooves gallop as the snow melts. Ziwei steps on the Qingyun Road, and Taiyi returns to the White Stone Palace. Stunning scenery needs no silver to buy, just use a brush to capture the art of heaven." Every spring, the town is filled with blooming flowers, making it an ideal place for sightseeing and enjoying the scenery.
