Introduction

Tianchi Mountain Scenic Area is the most primitive, rustic, and natural ecological tourist scenic area in the Jiangnan region. It is 169 meters above sea level and covers an area of 45 hectares. It is known for its mountainous scenery, stone landscapes, and numerous springs. The beauty of Tianchi is created by the convergence of springs flowing through the mountains. The pool water is clear and the surrounding rocks are picturesque. It is often enveloped in clouds, resembling a fairyland on earth. Tianchi Mountain is renowned for its natural beauty and tranquility, earning it the nickname "Little Huangshan of Jiangnan". The ancient cultural heritage makes it a popular destination. Legend has it that Zen master Zhi Gong founded the Jijian Temple in the Wei and Jin dynasties, and the temple still houses well-preserved stone buildings from the Yuan Dynasty, making them invaluable architectural treasures with a history of over 600 years. The temple also contains stone Buddhas for protection and blessings. Another treasure of Tianchi Mountain is the ancient spring called Hanku Spring. It has a sweet and mineral-rich taste and is believed to have health benefits. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking Tianchi scenery, visit the 600-year-old stone buildings, taste the thousand-year-old spring water, try ecological cuisine, witness the stone formations, admire the unique Lianhua Peak, and pay respects to the stone Buddha. Tianchi Mountain, like a peach blossom paradise, will make city dwellers forget to return, allowing them to fully enjoy the endless tranquility. The most valuable historical relics in the scenic area are the three stone houses and stone Buddhas in the Jijian Temple. According to research, these stone houses were built in the Yuan Dynasty in the seventeenth year of Zhi Zheng's reign, making them over 600 years old. In addition, there are also stone Buddhas in the eastern and western stone houses, both naturally sculpted from stone. These stone houses and Buddhas are precious materials for studying Yuan Dynasty architecture and carving art. The highest point of Tianchi Mountain is the Lianhua Peak, which is only 169 meters high. There are several huge rocks standing on the top of the mountain, reaching several zhang (a unit of measure, equivalent to 3.3 meters) in height. From a distance, they resemble lotus flowers blooming in the sky, and up close, the massive rocks have a unique shape. The mountaintop is quite windy, making it a cool place to enjoy the view. Tianchi Mountain is famous for its pool halfway up the mountain, its magnificent peaks and stones, and its abundant springs. The mountain is filled with famous historical sites and scenic spots, creating an extremely tranquil and peaceful environment, like a paradise. After 4 pm, the mountain becomes quiet, and sitting on the top of the Lianhua Peak, one can calmly watch the sunset as the sky turns red and the afterglow lingers. If you are fortunate enough to witness the sunset and the evening glow amidst the mountain, with red leaves covering the slopes, it is truly a breathtaking sight.
