Introduction
During the Anti-Japanese War, Simingshan was one of the 19 revolutionary bases in China and made indelible contributions to the Chinese revolution. Countless revolutionaries sacrificed their lives here for national liberation, leaving behind many red revolutionary relics, such as the Simingshan Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial, the former site of the Zhejiang East District Committee of the Communist Party of China, the former site of the Political Department of the Zhejiang East Guerrilla Detachment of the New Fourth Army, the former site of the Command Headquarters of the Zhejiang East Guerrilla Detachment of the New Fourth Army, the former site of the Zhejiang East Administrative Office, and the former site of the Zhejiang East Anti-Japanese Military and Political School, etc. These relics bear witness to the glorious history of the Communist Party of China leading the people in the resistance against Japan and saving the nation from crisis. The former site of the Zhejiang East (Simingshan) Anti-Japanese Base was rated as one of the "Top Ten Red Tourism Sites in China" in 2005, and on May 25, 2006, the State Council approved the confirmation by the Ministry of Culture that the former site of the Zhejiang East Anti-Japanese Base is one of the sixth batch of nationally protected key cultural relics.
