Introduction

This private library is located in the urban area of Ningbo, Zhejiang, China. It is one of the oldest existing libraries in China, one of the oldest in Asia, and one of the world's earliest three major family libraries. Its construction began in the mid-Ming Dynasty and was presided over by the retired Right Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of War, Fan Qin. The Fan family has collected many books, which are now displayed in different exhibition halls. The building embodies the culmination of Ningbo's residential architecture, incorporating various traditional folk crafts such as woodcarving, brick carving, stone carving, gold leaf, and engraving. In addition, there is a mahjong museum inside the Tianyi Pavilion, which is very interesting and has become a popular attraction for many tourists to take photos and leave memories.
