Introduction

Hidden in the courtyard at No. 18 Hongwa Temple Street near the campus of Sichuan University (Wangjiang Campus) are two "internet-famous" old buildings. These two buildings were originally unnamed, but they were named "Mandarin Duck Building" because of two intersecting stairs. Although these two buildings are connected, they have different heights, with one building having six floors and the other having seven floors. Their stacked and intertwining design makes them look like the old Hong Kong streets in Wong Kar-wai's movies, so many people come here specifically to take photos. In addition to their unique appearance, the most attractive aspect here is the authentic depiction of old Chengdu life. Living here, neighbors can see each other's balconies, windows, and clothes hanging outside the windows; walking up the street, people can see others watering plants, cooking... It feels like a different world, as if going back to the old times.
