Introduction

The Chongfa Temple Pagoda in the northeast corner of Martyrs Cemetery in Yongcheng City. According to the records of the Qing Guangxu "Yongcheng County Annals": "Chongfa Temple... was built before the Tang Dynasty, and the Shao Sheng period built the pagoda, which was several zhang high." The temple no longer exists, only the pagoda remains. According to historical records and the inscriptions on the stones and bricks in the underground palace of the pagoda, it was built in the first year of Shao Sheng during the Song Dynasty (1093) and completed in the fifth year of Shao Sheng (1098). The Chongfa Temple Pagoda is a brick pagoda with a wooden structure imitating a tower. It has an octagonal floor plan, nine layers, a total height of 34.6 meters, and different internal structures on each floor. The passageways inside the pagoda are all brick-concrete structures.
