Introduction
Yele Lake, also known as Yele Reservoir, is located in Yele Natural Reserve in Yele Township, Mianning County, Sichuan Province. It is a plateau lake with an altitude of over 2600 meters, boasting beautiful views. Far away from the hustle and bustle, it is situated in the remote mountains where Yi ethnic minority lives, with few tourists and almost original natural features preserved.
Yele Lake has different views in all seasons and is worth a visit anytime. However, the most stunning and suitable time for a visit is from June to September. During this period, the lake is crystal blue, surrounded by primitive forests, reflecting snow-capped mountains, and covered with azaleas and various wildflowers in the grassland. Cattle and sheep graze peacefully on the grassland. Due to its lesser-known status, only a small number of backpackers go camping, making it a paradise-like scene.
