Introduction

The Sacred Lake is located at the foot of the Meili Snow Mountain's Goddess Peak and Miancimu Peak, at an altitude of about 6600 meters. Every year on August 15th, Tibetans come to the lake to circle it. The lake is fed by melted snow from the mountain glaciers and is regarded as sacred water by the locals, who only drink it and never use it for washing their hands, feet, or face. To reach the Sacred Lake, a difficult 19-kilometer hike is necessary, taking 9-10 hours for those with normal physical strength and strong perseverance. Winter and spring seasons are not recommended due to snow accumulation and less beautiful scenery. A local guide is highly recommended, as well as sufficient water and food supplies. After crossing the river at the Xiaoyubeng, there is a small road up the mountain with a sign that reads "No Entry." This is the path to the Sacred Lake, which is closed to protect the area until it is officially developed. Visiting is at one's own risk.
