Introduction

Jiangnan Folk Customs Museum consists of three small galleries: the Sedan Chair Gallery, the Ancient Deities Temple, and the Treasure Gallery. The museum's collection mainly focuses on folk cultural relics from the Ming and Qing dynasties, dating back to the Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties period, with a total of over ten thousand items. The folk cultural relics are mainly common items used in ancient people's celebrations, worship, and other large-scale activities, such as sedans, masks, Buddhist statues, and various rare artifacts, depicting vivid scenes of our ancestors' lives and reflecting the unique local folk customs. The Sedan Chair Gallery and the Treasure Gallery showcase birthday gifts given to Deng Sanfeng, a Minister of the Ministry of Rites, by Emperor Zhao Gou of the Song Dynasty, which have a history of over 900 years.
