Introduction

The Mongolian name of the Xilamuren River means Yellow River and it's located in the northern source area of the West Liao River, with its source in Baicaogou, Hongshan North Foot, Keshiketeng Banner, Chifeng City, in the Da Hinggan Mountains. It was called Huangshui, Raole water, and Tuzhen water in ancient times. It is 380 kilometers long and has a drainage area of 32,171 square kilometers. The total drop of the river is 1,134 meters and it has a navigation distance of over 800 miles. It is a sandy river and carries a large amount of yellow sand in its water. Main tributaries include the Chaganmulun River and the Shaolang River.
