Introduction
The Chaoyang Fossil Museum covers an area of 12,300 square meters and houses six themed exhibition halls including Earth Hall, Science Popularization Hall, Dinosaur Hall, Rehe Biota Fossil Exhibition Hall, Fossil Plant Exhibition Hall and Petrified Wood Craft Exhibition Hall. The museum exhibits nearly a thousand different types of ancient biological specimens, including invertebrates, insects, spiders, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, dinosaurs, pterosaurs, mammals, and ancient plants.
The museum's rich collection of exhibits showcases the wonders of fossil specimens. With the help of 370 graphic boards, visitors are taken on a journey back to a brand new prehistoric era.
The first floor of the museum displays the origin of the Earth, covering basic knowledge such as dinosaur fossils, various minerals, and the process of the formation of the Earth. In addition, visitors can better understand the Earth's great changes by simulating natural phenomena such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.
The second floor displays many rare fish, bird, plant and insect fossils, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of past natural ecosystems.
