Introduction

Jinxiu Yao Museum was established in 1991 with a total area of over 1300 square meters. It is the first Yao ethnic museum built in China after the founding of the country. The museum consists of two exhibition halls. The first-floor hall mainly exhibits Yao culture, customs, history of Yao revolutionary struggles, Yao production, daily utensils, and unearthed cultural relics. The second-floor hall mainly exhibits Yao silver ornaments and Yao costumes. Jinxiu Yao Museum is a microcosm of Yao society. It collects more than 90 sets of 58 categories of Yao costumes from all over the country and overseas, making it the museum with the largest and most comprehensive collection of Yao costumes in China. These magnificent and colorful costumes fully reflect the Yao people's aesthetic taste and longing for a better life, making them a splendid and unique branch of Yao traditional culture.
