Introduction

The Huapiling Scenic Area, located at the starting point of the Grassland Sky Road, is named after the abundant birch trees. With an elevation of up to 2128.7 meters, it is the highest peak in western Beijing and enjoys the reputation of "Zitian Mountain". The scenic area boasts unique natural scenery, lush trees, rushing mountain springs, bird songs and fragrant flowers, and abundant resources, making it a pure natural forest oxygen bar. Especially in summer and autumn, the temperature is pleasant, not exceeding 20℃, making it an excellent summer resort. The temperature on the grassland is cooler at night, so thicker clothing is recommended. In addition, the ultraviolet rays are stronger during the day, and visitors should take precautions and use sunscreen.

Huapiling Scenic Area is the starting point of the eastern section of the Grassland Sky Road. Currently, most of the tourists who go to the Grassland Sky Road for sightseeing are self-driving tourists starting from Beijing. If it is not convenient to drive, it is necessary to first arrive in Zhangbei County and then charter a car for sightseeing. ①Self-driving (Beijing-Grassland Sky Road): West entrance (recommended route): G6 Expressway - Xuanhua - Zhangjiakou - Zhangshi Expressway - Zhangbei South Toll Station exit - Yehuling - Grassland Sky Road West Entrance. East entrance: G6 Expressway - Zhangjiakou - Zhangcheng Expressway - Chongli - S242 Provincial Road - Huapiling - Grassland Sky Road East Entrance. ② Bus + charter: Bus: The boarding locations for Beijing to Zhangbei bus are Liuliqiao Bus Station and Yongdingmen Bus Station. Liuliqiao Bus Station departs at 6:10, 7:50, 8:00, 8:55, 16:00, and 16:40, totaling 6 trips per day. Yongdingmen Bus Station departs at 8:00, 10:00, and 20:00, totaling 3 trips per day. The ticket price ranges from 87 yuan to 100 yuan. Charter: After arriving in Zhangbei County, you can charter a car for sightseeing. A small car takes about 400 yuan per day. Usually, the charter is for two days, and you can also visit the Luanhe Shenyun and Lightning Lake Scenic Area in Gu Yuan County. Note: There is no supply or toilet facilities along the way. Please be prepared before traveling.
