Introduction
Dianshan Lake, located in the west of Qingpu County, Shanghai and adjacent to Kunshan City of Jiangsu Province, is the largest natural freshwater lake in Shanghai with an area of about 62 square kilometers and belongs to the Taihu Lake Basin. Dianshan Lake is the source of Huangpu River, the "mother river" of Shanghai, with beautiful scenery such as reeds swaying in the wind, fishing boats drifting on the lake, and lotus flowers blooming in ponds. Legend has it that Dianshan Lake was originally a piece of land which sunk and turned into a lake in the Qin and Han Dynasties. There was originally a mountain called Dianshan in the lake, hence its name. There are scenic spots such as Sangu Temple and Aofeng Tower on the lake.
The five tourist attractions around Dianshan Lake, namely Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Shanghai Grand View Garden, Dongfang Green Boat, Shanghai Sun Island, and Chen Yun Memorial Hall, are all national AAAA-level scenic spots. Additionally, there are three international standard golf courses, allowing you to enjoy the lakeside scenery while enjoying your trip. In addition, Dianshan Lake has leisure facilities such as a lakeside trail, a wetland park, rural tourism, and resorts, blending ancient and modern elements. With an area of over 60 square kilometers, the lake is connected to Taihu Lake in the west and Huangpu River in the east, making for spectacular scenery and serving as a venue for international rowing and canoeing training and competitions with a dock stretching about 5,500 meters and capable of accommodating over 200 boats.
