Introduction
The Aixi Lake Wetland Park, located on the east bank of Aixi Lake in the Gaoxin Development Zone of Nanchang City, is the only natural urban wetland in Jiangxi Province, with an area of over 2500 acres. It is adjacent to Aixi Lake, stretching from Chengdong Road in the north to Beijing East Road in the south, and from Changdi Road in the east to the eastern dam of Aixi Lake in the west.
The park is planned to be connected with the Tianxiangyuan Bird Park, forming a Poyang Lake Bird Migration Corridor. The Aixi Lake area of approximately 4.5 square kilometers of water and land will together form a natural and three-dimensional forest wetland system, becoming the natural green lung of Nanchang City.
The government plans to continue to improve the park facilities in 2009, building a central square, golf practice area, meteorological science museum, forest museum, and forest oxygen bar, establishing a habitat for gulls and herons, and creating an ecological paradise and a popular science base for education and research. After completion, the park will be green all year round, with flowers in every season, and birds playing and frolicking, attracting visitors to stay and enjoy themselves.
