Jiayugou Scenic Area is the entrance to Kanas Scenic Area. Tourists heading to Kanas usually go through here and often choose to first go to Urumqi, then transfer to Jiayugou in Bulqin County. 1. Urumqi-Kanas Scenic Area By plane: Kanas Airport is a seasonal airport and generally starts operating in early June, stopping at the end of the Golden Week in October. There is a direct shuttle bus from the airport to the Jiayugou entrance of the scenic area, which takes about 1 hour. Chartered car/self-drive: This is a relatively convenient transportation method to Kanas Scenic Area and allows for the opportunity to visit scenic spots along the way. The price for chartering a car is about 1500-1800 yuan (one-way/vehicle) from Urumqi to Jiayugou and takes about 12 hours (including meal times). It is about 150 kilometers and takes about 2 hours from Bulqin County to Jiayugou, at a cost of about 250 yuan (one-way/vehicle). By train: There is no train station in Bulqin County where the scenic area is located. The nearest train station to the scenic area is Beitun City Railway Station. There are trains going back and forth between Urumqi and Beitun, which takes about 12 hours. The hard-seat ticket price is about 100 yuan, and the hard-sleeper ticket price is about 180 yuan. After arriving in Beitun, there are buses to Bulqin County at the city bus station, which takes about 2 hours and covers a distance of about 90 kilometers. After arriving in Bulqin County, transfer to Jiayugou (which takes about 2.5 hours). By bus: There are three buses departing from Urumqi Nianzigou Bus Station to Bulqin County every day at 11:15, 20:10, and 20:40, respectively. It takes about 10 hours and covers a distance of about 700 kilometers. The ticket price is about 180 yuan. Along the way from Urumqi to Bulqin County, there are few people and it crosses the desert and uninhabited areas for hundreds of miles, so it is necessary to bring some dry food and drinking water. There is one bus departing from Bulqin County Bus Station to Jiayugou every day at 10:00, which takes about 2.5 hours and covers a distance of about 140 kilometers.
