Introduction
Hengshui Lake, a water source lake located in the North China Plain, is also known as "Qianqingwa" or "Qianqingwa Reservoir" with an area of 75 square kilometers, including 57 square kilometers in Jizhou and 18 square kilometers in Taocheng District. Its lake area and water storage scale are second only to Baiyangdian, making it the second-largest freshwater lake in the North China Plain. In July 2000, it was approved as a provincial-level nature reserve for wetlands and birds by the National Forestry Bureau and the provincial government of Hebei, and in June 2003, it was further approved as a national-level nature reserve. To get to Hengshui Lake, one can take the No.10 Southbound Bus from Hengshui Station for a ticket price of 1 yuan. Upon arrival, visitors can rent a small boat to tour the protected area, with the rental fee for a six-person small boat being up to 60 yuan. Visitors can also visit Bird Island and Meihua Island.
