Introduction
The Nan Shaolin Temple Site, located in the Linshan Village of Jiulianshan in Xitianwei Town, Putian, is a historic attraction. The Linquan Academy within it was first built in the first year of the Yongding era of the Southern Dynasty, and by the Jia You era of the Northern Song Dynasty, it had become a temple with a strong martial arts atmosphere, becoming one of the centers of martial arts activities along the southeastern coast of China, and also a famous tourist attraction. After reconstruction, the present Nan Shaolin Temple has taken on an initial scale, and the magnificent buildings inside the temple such as the Daxiong Baodian, Tianwangdian, Zhonggulou, Shanmen, as well as the "Nan Shaolin" archway inscribed by Zhao Puchu, make the entire temple majestic and splendid. Surrounded by other temples, such as the Guzhu Temple, Xiawu Academy, and Jiulian Rock, it forms a spectacular cluster of temples, reproducing the grandeur of the forests from the past. The only regret is that all the records only mention "Linquan Academy," and there is no record of "Shaolin Temple," which has been questioned by some people.
